Lives & works in Brussels (Belgium)
Alexandra Dementieva studied journalism and fine arts in Moscow and Brussels. Her main interests are focused on social psychology, perception, and their application in multimedia interactive installations. Her video work integrates different elements including behavioral psychology developing narrative through a point of view of subjective camera. Her video and multimedia works have been exhibited internationally.
Alexandra conceived specially for the CCNOA space a site specific installation ’Post Opening’. Shadows of previous exhibition opening are projected into the wall in face of staircase. At the first glaze spectator has an impression that when he will be on the up he meets a lot of people chatting and watching. But instead of it his shadow mixes up with other shadows of invisible visitors. It creates strange feeling of time shift. An original soundtrack of Aernoudt Jacobs accompanies the film. She also contributed an edition of her new video work ’videomort’ to the exhibition ’D-LIGHT’ at CCNOA in November 2004.
Aernoudt Jacobs (*1968) lives and works in Brussels. He has studied architecture. After his studies at the Sint-Lucasinstituut it did not take long, however, before he chose music. Today he has released music under several aliases: MarkMancha (electronic music), missfit (assigned music for film and other media), tmrx (autonomous collages constructed from everyday sounds). From 2004 he has been working under the name Aernoudt Jacobs and concentrates on installations, performances, sound design and commissioned work for film, dance and theater.
